Pink Floyd - The Wall - O Filme (1979)

Sinopse:

O filme de The Wall é uma interpretação do disco. Pink é um "war baby" (expressão muito usada na Europa, especialmente na Inglaterra, para se referir às crianças que nasceram durante ou logo após a Segunda Grande Guerra e por esse motivo nunca conheceram seus pais). A perda e a decorrente ausência do pai é “compensada” pela superproteção da mãe, que escolhe desde as roupas de Pink até suas namoradas (não mostrado no filme, mas sim na música Mother). Sua infância também não foi agradável: foi o alvo preferido do professor. Pink cresce e se torna um astro de rock e, sem suportar a pressão, cai em depressão. Passa então a negligenciar a esposa (que se envolve com outro homem) e a sofrer alucinações. Como resultado, tenta cometer suicídio, mas é salvo por um médico. Dopado, Pink segue para um de seus shows, onde manipula a platéia e usa seu poder para que a platéia siga em frente e “limpe o mundo dos males das sociedades” (clara analogia à ditadura nazi-fascista). Após um de seus colapsos, Pink declara-se cansado de viver assim e pede para voltar a ser quem era antes. Segue-se então um julgamento na sua mente, onde ele encara seu passado. Mãe, esposa e professor depõem contra ele, e a sentença do juiz é que cesse seu isolamento do mundo externo.
